LEXINGTON, Ohio. — An Ohio firefighter whose legs were crushed between two tanker trucks has undergone surgery but could face amputation, according to reports.
Firefighter Josef Tadijanac, 45, a Washington Township firefighter, was responding to a fire when a fire truck rolled into his legs, pinning him to a stationary fire truck Sunday.
“He has undergone two surgeries to restore circulation from the knee down,” Washington Township Fire Chief Dave Compton told The Marion Star.
“Last update I received said he was in the ICU, they were preparing him for dialysis and that there is a possibility of an amputation.”
An investigation into the cause of the incident is continuing.
