LINN VALLEY LAKES, Kan. — A Kansas fire chief died Wednesday when he was pinned between a fire truck and a parked vehicle.
The driver of the fire truck was attempting to back the apparatus into the firehouse bay at the Linn Valley Lakes Fire Department and fatally trapped Chief Stanley L. Giles in the maneuver, according to an online report by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Chief Giles was pronounced dead at the scene.
