WASHINGTON — Video released by NASA shows the events of 9/11 unfolding from the viewpoint of an astronaut in space.
The video shows smoke billowing from New York City as captured by astronaut Frank Culbertson aboard the International Space Station, 250 miles above the Earth’s surface.
“Our prayers and thoughts go out to all the people there and everywhere else,” Culbertson is heard saying.
“And I hope that the people who are responsible are caught and brought to justice as soon as possible, but first, our prayers and condolences to all involved.”
In addition to the footage of the smoke, the astronauts about the space station recorded a message to honor those affected by 9/11.
