YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A man was arrested last week after harassing firefighters at the scene of a house fire, where a firefighter was also shot.
Police arrested Cameron Dyer after he ran over fire hoses multiple times and yelled at crews, reported WKBN. Dyer later admitted he had $8,000 in drug money stashed in the burning home and said firefighters were not acting fast enough to extinguish the flames.
“He says he treats that as his business and bragged about what a good businessman he is,” Youngstown prosecutor Dana Lantz said.
He has not been linked to the shots fired on scene, which injured Lt. Paul Lutton.
“He admitted that that was his vacant house. He admitted that he had a large sum of money stashed in the house. He admitted that he was a lucrative drug dealer,” police officer Doug Bobovnyik said.
Dyer has a history of past convictions and will be sentenced on another case Friday.
The shooting remains under investigation.
