HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A woman was arrested for intentionally starting an apartment fire that injured two children, the children’s stepfather and a firefighter Tuesday morning.
Huntsville Police said Ebony Nicole Hill, 29, ran from the scene after starting the blaze inside her own apartment located at 800 Hundley Drive around 8:40 a.m. Huntsville Fire and police officers responded to the fire, which spread to an nearby apartment occupied by two juveniles, ages 10 and 16, and their 40-year-old stepfather.
A firefighter was injured while rescuing one of the victims. They were treated and released from Huntsville Hospital. The children were flown to the burn unit at UAB Children’s Hospital. The adult is being treated for serious burns at Huntsville Hospital.
Hill was arrested and charged with first-degree arson, third-degree assault and three counts first-degree assault. She has been booked into Huntsville Metro County Jail. No bail has been set.
The motive behind the alleged arson is still under investigation
