KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A 32-year-old woman who suffered severe burns early Thursday in a Kissimmee apartment fire has been charged with attempted murder and arson, according to police.
More than 12 hours after the fire, Giodenny Castillo-Ricardo was found lying nude on the ground covered with burns and several blocks away, records state.
When the fire was reported at 2:35 a.m., at least two residents were inside the burning residence at 2203 San Vittorino Circle in the Polo South Apartments off Dyer Boulevard, records state.
The Kissimmee Fire Department put out the fire in the apartment’s kitchen and determined arson as the cause.
Details of the fire and police investigations were not immediately available Friday.
Castillo-Ricardo was arrested and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment of her burns. She remained at ORMC on Friday under guard without bail, records state.
