Firefighters knock down Los Angeles church fire

They put out the blaze in 20 minutes, and prevented the flames from spreading to an adjoining building

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Firefighters protected a church from a fire that burned an adjoining building Monday morning in the South Los Angeles area.

The fire at 110th Street and Vermont Avenue was knocked down in about 20 minutes. No injuries were reported, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arson investigators responded to the location in Westmont, located west of the 110 Freeway and north of the 105 Freeway. Details regarding the building damaged in the fire were not immediately available.
