CEDARVILLE, N.Y. — A fire station is back in service after a fire broke out Sunday night.
Cedarville Fire Chief Fred Sinclair said the fire was ignited after snow fell off the roof and onto the station’s propane regulators. The gas then seeped into the building and caught fire once it reached the kitchen stove’s pilot light.
A firefighter was inside the station at the time of the fire and was able to quickly extinguish it, reported TWC News.
“He started measures to quell the fire with a fire extinguisher, knock it down a little bit, which definitely helped until people could get here and start firefighting operations,” Chief Sinclair said.
No fire trucks or firefighting equipment was damaged in the blaze.
