HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Firefighters were forced to break the windows of a car that parked in front of a fire hydrant while responding to a house blaze.
NJ.com reported that firefighters had to extend a hose through the vehicle in order to gain access to the hydrant while trying to extinguish a house fire.
The firefighters posted a photo on their Facebook page as a reminder that it is illegal to park in front of hydrants.
“This is what happens when you park in front of a hydrant,” the post said. “Reminder, it is against the law to park in front of a fire hydrant.”
Firefighters were still able to control the blaze in around 20 minutes, and there were no injuries.
