ATTLEBORO, Mass. — A total of 12 members of the Attleboro Fire Department have now tested positive for COVID.

Paul Jacques, the president of the Attleboro Firefighters Local 848, said Saturday there are 10 firefighters and two dispatchers who tested positive for coronavirus, WJAR reported.

All of the members of the department who tested positive are now quarantined and being monitored by health officials.

Jacques told the television station that one member of the department who was hospitalized with the virus has since been released.

“Our members are on the front lines of this pandemic,” Jacques said last week as some of the cases were announced.

Other members of the department have been tested with a majority of test results coming back negative. Some department members are still waiting for test results, WJAR reported.
