PHILADELPHIA — INTERSCHUTZ USA, an inaugural fire industry event scheduled to take place in Philadelphia this October, has been postponed until October 2021, event organizers announced.

Organizers said in a statement that they made the decision to postpone the show, which would bring the German INTERSCHUTZ show to the U.S. for the first time, after “exploring all our options” with the Philadelphia Fire Department, Philadelphia Convention and Visitor Bureau and state government on how to hold the event safely in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event is now scheduled to take place Oct 13-16, 2021, in Philadelphia.

INTERSCHUTZ USA will not be held as a virtual event, organizers said, but online resources and webinars will be made available in the lead-up to its 2021 show through its Digital Shift initiative.

INTERSCHUTZ in Germany draws approximately 150,000 attendees from around the world every five years, according to the INTERSCHUTZ USA website. The first U.S. version of the show is planned to feature keynote speakers, multiple education tracks, hands-on training, product demonstrations and an exhibition floor at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
