LEVY COUNTY, Fla. — A firefighter-EMT was honored for saving a life while off duty.

Chiefland Citizen reported that Levy County firefighter-EMT Hunter Kline was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his quick use of CPR when a patron at a local establishment became unresponsive.

“It is reported that the patron is alive and doing well as a result of Hunter’s quick action,” Commissioner Matt Brooks said, leading to a standing ovation for Kline.

“Just recognize that our first responders have a really tough job, and even when they’re off duty, they’re caring about others’ lives and exemplifying their training and doing our county proud,” Brooks said. “We appreciate Hunter’s good service.”
