HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Hanover Twp. police are charging three people in connection with a series of American flag thefts that took place last week.
Andrew Gushock, 18, of the township, will be charged along with two unidentified juvenile boys with institutional vandalism and theft, police said Monday.
Police allege Gushock and the boys removed American and POW/MIA flags from the pole in front of Hanover Area High School shortly before 10 p.m. July 8.
The boys continued stealing flags throughout the night from homes in the Korn Krest and Hanover Green sections of the township, police said.
The boys were also responsible for stealing an American flag as well as a personalized flag from in front of the Hanover Twp. Fire Department headquarters on the Sans Souci Parkway, according to police.
Police say they think they have recovered all the stolen flags, and that those belonging to the high school and fire department have been returned.
Anyone who had a flag stolen the night of July 8 and has not already reported it is asked to call police at 570-825-1254.
