EVERETT, Wash. — A fire chief sentenced in July for sex crimes has surrendered his paramedic license.
Herald Net reported that David “Pete” Vier, 60, with the Everett (Wash.) Fire Department, retired from the department in 2014 after attempting to arrange sex with a 15-year-old girl. Vier unknowingly had been talking with a police detective running a sting operation.
He pleaded guilty to communication with a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution. He will serve an eight-month sentence.
The state Department of Health suspended Vier’s paramedic credential after he was charged. He’s now no longer able to work or volunteer as a paramedic.
Vier spent 25 years with the department and promoted to division chief of EMS. He was demoted after his erratic behavior, which prompted stalking allegations by two women and led him to being banned from a medical center.
