WASHINGTON — A D.C. firefighter at the scene of a building fire Saturday morning was injured when a car ran into him and pinned him against a fire truck.
The Washington Post reported that the firefighter saw a car moving fast in the area and put his hands up to try to slow the driver.
“The driver ignored that. Instead, he sped up,” D.C. police spokesman Araz Alali said.
The car struck the firefighter and pushed him against the rig, causing leg injuries, according to the report. The firefighter was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were listed as non-life threatening.
Police charged the driver with felony assault.
