There’s no denying it; we all do it. Be it secondary egresses or fire extinguisher tags, we all look for something when “relaxing” in public.
We asked our fans on Facebook to share what they always find themselves looking for while off duty. Here are some of their responses.

.“I always look at exits. I have been known to check an extinguisher tag a time or two.” — Robert Fix
.“I’m always keeping an eye out for the quickest egress and the general condition of the building area I’m in.” — Andrew Noyes
.“Where is the fire hydrant? How many stair steps per flight? It’s endless.” — Dan Thomas
.“I always look up to see how the ceiling/roof system is constructed. " — Tony Bredow
.“I always look for at least two ways out.” — Warren Valentino
.“I count the doors to the stairway even if it’s past my room. In a hotel, I won’t stay above the 9th floor so a ladder truck can make a rescue if needed. My wife thinks I’m nuts. But, it’s just in my blood.” — Jim Larm
.“I check for sprinkler system and what type of sprinkler heads. I also check for obvious fire hazards.” — Joel Parks Jr
.“Potential hazards, but in moderation, because as we all know the potential is limitless. And I got other stuff to do.” — Kaipo Tsark
