OAKLAND, Calif. — A 29-year-old woman who was trapped under a BART train late Saturday night at the Rockridge Station was pulled out alive, a BART spokesman said.

At about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, as a Millbrae-bound train pulled into the Rockridge Station, the train operator saw a woman on the tracks, said BART spokesman Linton Johnson.

BART police and firefighters from Oakland and Berkeley converged on the scene, evacuated the train and the platform, and were able to pull apart the train to remove the woman.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, “was communicating with the staff who were trying to remove her from underneath the train,” Johnson said. “She appeared to have cuts and bruises.”
