SPRINGVILLE, Utah — Police say it took six ambulances to take seven people to two different hospitals after a near-head-on collision on state Route 51 Tuesday evening.
Springville Police Lt. Dave Caron said one of the vehicles pulled into the path of the other and the two collided, sending the vehicles spinning into a third vehicle.
Firefighters had to extricate passengers from two of the vehicles.
Three adults remained hospitalized in critical condition later in the evening. Four children were treated and later released, Caron said.
Police closed the highway while they investigated the crash.
