TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Family, friends and fellow firefighters bid a veteran fire captain farewell this weekend after he was fatally struck by a vehicle.
Capt. Bradley Allen Deanda, 46, was hit and killed by a vehicle as he was removing hunting gear from his car on the side of the road Dec. 11. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Brad was a real caring person and he genuinely loved what he did and cared about the city and the people in it,” Tallahassee Fire Lt. Brian Atkinson told WCTV. “He set an example.”
Colleagues said Capt. Deanda was a family man who was passionate about his career. He leaves behind his wife and two children.
