AMES, Iowa — A firefighter died Friday after being found unresponsive at the fire station.
U.S. Fire Administration reported that Steven Paul Buser, 51, with the Ames Fire Department, responded to an emergency call Thursday and finished working his shift the next day. Buser stayed at the station to exercise, where he was alone.
Someone entered the fire station and found Buser unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Buser was an 18-year veteran. We will update you once more information becomes available.
