COLUMBUS, Ohio — A firefighter died Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest while on-duty.
Adam Long, 44, reported feeling overheated and ill after a training exercise, according to FirefighterCloseCalls. Long was transported to the hospital by colleagues after going into cardiac arrest. He died at the hospital, reported USFA.
Long served as a firefighter for over 20 years. According to a tribute page on Facebook, Long worked at the Ohio Defense Supply Center Columbus Fire and Emergency Services for 12 years.

Thank you to our brotherhood that came together today to transport him with honor by Columbus Police Dept, Whitehall Fire, Truro Fire, Violet Fire, Columbus Fire , and DSCC, where Adam has worked for the past 12 years. Please say a prayer for him on his journey, and fly your United States of America flag high in the air with pride in his honor. I know he wouldn’t want it any other way.
