OAK PARK, Ill. — An Illinois firefighter died of a cardiac arrest after his shift Monday.
U.S. Fire Administration reported that firefighter-paramedic Kenneth Harris, 56, with the Village of Oak Park Fire Department, responded to multiple incidents during his shift. The last incident he responded to began around 6 a.m. and he suffered a cardiac arrest while at home around 8 p.m. the same day.
Harris was a 28-year veteran. He is survived by his wife, five children and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been made yet.
