SAXON, Wis. — An assistant fire chief died July 11 while responding to a call during flash floods.
Mitch Koski, 56, was responding under a mutual aid agreement for the Saxon-Gurney Fire Department when his private vehicle was swept away by flash floods, according to USFA.
The Montreal assistant chief had worked for the department for 30 years.
Apart from working for the department, he worked as the city’s mayor and on the city council.
Koski leaves behind a wife and two daughters, reported the Daily Globe.
A memorial service will be held Monday afternoon.
