NEW YORK — New York firefighter David Royael from Engine 243 in Brooklyn had volunteered to teach fire safety to his girlfriend Natalie Moy’s kindergarten class in Woodside, Queens, on the last day before the Christmas break.
Natalie has been with David for two years and a teacher for 14 years.
And this is one lesson Natalie — and her class — will never forget. David’s firefighting colleague Frank Dwyer explained: ‘At the end of the lesson, he asked the kids if they wanted to see their teacher put on his bunker gear.’ Of course they did.
