Md. firefighters injured in fire truck crash during response

Two Montgomery County firefighters and a civilian were hurt when a tanker collided with a vehicle while responding to a call

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services tanker responding to a car fire was involved in a crash on June 1.

According to the department, the tanker struck another vehicle, injuring two firefighters and the civilian driver, WJLA reported.

All three were treated at the scene, with one firefighter and the civilian transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Both the civilian and the firefighter remained in the hospital overnight for observation and are recovering. They are expected to be treated and released soon.

WUSA 9 reported that the tanker was responding to a large vehicle fire on the Capital Beltway when the collision occurred.
