1 resident killed, firefighter hurt in Del. fire

TOWNSEND, Del. — The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating last night’s fire in Townsend, Delaware which heavily damaged a home. One person was found dead inside the burning house.

It happened just after 11:00 p.m. on the 700 block of Money Road near Noxontown Pond Road.

Firefighters arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the home. One resident escaped and was transported to the Christiana Hospital in good condition, suffering from smoke inhalation.
