NEW ORLEANS — A house fire trapped two firefighters under some debris before they were able to be rescued and taken to the hospital.
WWLTV reported that both firefighters were treated and released with minor injuries.
When crews arrived on the scene Tuesday morning, they found a single-story home heavily involved in flames and the fire was moving toward adjacent homes, according to the report.
While firefighters were walking between homes, a portion of the home that was on fire collapsed, trapping them under the debris. A rescue team was deployed and the two firefighters were taken to the hospital, treated and released, according to the report.
The home was unoccupied and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
