EAST MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two hurt in leap from blaze

Two people were injured jumping from a burning apartment building early Sunday morning, Memphis Fire Department officials said.

The incident began just before 2 a.m. at 3263 Southern. Firefighters found the two-story wood-frame apartment building ablaze. The fire was brought under control at 2:11 a.m.

A 42-year-old woman suffered sprains to her legs and ankles. A man received abrasions to his left arm and forehead. Neither was seriously hurt.
