2 Mass. firefighters injured battling blaze

WALTHAM, Mass. —A fire that broke out in a vacant home in Waltham early Wednesday morning forced evacuations of neighboring homes.

Flames broke out at 51 Charles Street shortly after 3:15 a.m. When firefighters arrived the vacant home was fully engulfed by flames.

The fire was so intense that firefighters had to evacuate nearby homes. “We had some issues with getting power cut. We had some live lines that were coming down,” Waltham Fire Department Chief Paul Ciccone said.
