FORT WORTH, Texas — Investigators said lightning is responsible for a two-alarm fire in far north Fort Worth that injured two firefighters Monday afternoon.

The firefighters were in a two-story house in the 12800 block of Campolina Way to locate the source of the flames.

“They made their way into attic trying to get to the fire, and at some point fell from the attic to the ground floor,” said Mike Ikerd, an investigator with the Fort Worth Fire Department. His team determined the fire started with a lightning strike to the home’s roof.
