KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Arson investigators are looking into a series of suspicious fires at 2427 Jefferson Ave. in East Knoxville that have left the house destroyed.
The Knoxville Fire Department was summoned to the house for a third time this week at 2 a.m. Saturday. They arrived to find flames shooting through the roof of the unstable structure, according to an email from Capt. D.J. Corcoran.
One firefighter suffered an eye injury.
The first fire occurred Tuesday morning when the 15 occupants living there were displaced. The small fire started in a utility room. The KUB power meter was pulled for safety reasons, leaving the home without power.
The second fire occurred Friday evening and it took three hours to extinguish, Corcoran wrote.
