SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Two people were killed when a fire broke out at a townhome in Sandy Springs about 1 a.m. Monday, authorities said. Three firefighters also suffered various injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Firefighters say they arrived to find a townhome in flames at North River Parkway and Roswell Road. Crews found two people inside.
“When they made entry into the unit, we found a male victim on the floor in full cardiac arrest. We aggressively treated him, transported him to an area hospital. Firefighters went deeper into the unit and found the second victim, a female on the second floor, in full cardiac arrest. [They] initiated treatment with her, too, and transported her to an area hospital, too,” said Sandy Springs Fire Deputy Chief Jeff Scarbrough.
