KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three firefighters suffered injuries battling a vacant house fire early Monday morning.
The fire broke out shortly before 5:30 a.m. at a home located on East 29th Street just east of Monroe Avenue on the city’s east side. Smoke was showing from the home when firefighters arrived.
When one firefighter entered the front door of the home, he fell through the flooring and landed in the basement. It took other firefighters about five minutes to rescue the firefighter. After the firefighter was rescued, other firefighters were ordered to evacuate the home.
