MONTVALE, N.J. — Five firefighters and a resident were hurt when the deck they were standing on collapsed after a chimney fire Tuesday night.
NJ.com reported that fire crews were dousing a chimney fire when the rear deck gave way. One firefighter was hospitalized with an ankle injury.
Four other firefighters, including one who suffered a broken foot in the fall, were treated and released from a local hospital, according to the report.
A sixth firefighter declined medical treatment and the resident was also treated for unspecified injuries and was released, according to the report.
