BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. — Six people were hospitalized after a blaze Wednesday morning in Bedford County.
Firefighters arrived about 8:40 a.m. to a single-story house on Berrymans Road in Montvale, said Jeff Pauley, Bedford County deputy fire marshal.
Three adults and three children, 9, 3 and 2, were all being treated for smoke inhalation Wednesday, Pauley said.
The manufactured home was deemed a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
It took about 20 minutes for the Montvale and Bedford County fire and rescue squads to take control of the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
