ATLANTA, Ga. — Two firefighters were injured Tuesday night while battling a house fire.
WSBTV reported that one firefighter had to be carried out of the home after the roof collapsed on him.
Assistant Fire Chief Chris Wessels said the roof, some wood beams and debris buried one of his firefighters.
“It took about three crews of firefighters to free him,” Chief Wessels said. “He was stable to come down the ladder on his own power. He has a very minor burn on one leg.”
Another firefighter also suffered minor injuries during the rescue, but both are expected to recover, according to the report.
