Boston firefighter injured battling 5-alarm fire

The firefighter suffered a shoulder injury; no residents were injured in the four-story apartment building

BOSTON — A firefighter was injured and 20 people were displaced by a five-alarm fire Tuesday morning.

Boston Globe reported that one firefighter suffered a shoulder injury while battling the blaze, which caused an estimated $800,000 in damage.

No residents at the large four-story apartment building were injured, but the fire heavily damaged the second and third floors, according to the report.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained. The Salvation Army responded to the scene to assist displaced residents, according to the report.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
