NEW YORK — The Fire Department says part of the roof of a Bronx apartment building fell in during a blaze that sent 15 firefighters and one other person to a hospital with minor injuries.
Firefighters say another civilian also was examined but refused further medical attention after the blaze. It took firefighters about three hours to get it under control.
Firefighters were called shortly after 6 a.m. Monday to the six-story building on West Gun Hill Road. It’s near Van Cortlandt Park and the Norwood neighborhood.
The fire was in the top floor. Authorities say all the apartments on that floor were damaged, and some on the floor below may be.
The injuries included smoke inhalation.
