Chicago firefighter injured battling 3-alarm blaze

One firefighter suffered a minor back injury and was taken to a hospital; the cause of the fire is under investigation

CHICAGO — A Chicago firefighter was injured Tuesday while battling a three-alarm fire.

Abc7 reported that the fire broke out around 5:40 a.m. at a commercial building. Large flames and heavy smoke poured out of the roof of the reportedly unoccupied building.

Firefighters are working in defensive mode to contain the two-story building fire.

One firefighter suffered a minor back injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
