CHICAGO — A firefighter was injured this afternoon in an extra-alarm fire that broke out on the North Side in the city’s Wrigleyville neighborhood.
The fire started in a 2 and 1/2 story frame apartment building located at 3642 N. Wayne Ave., according to Fire Media. It had spread to an adjacent building located at 3644 N. Wayne Ave.
The fire was upgraded to a 2-11 alarm about 12:45 p.m., but as of 1:29 p.m., the fire was reportedly put out, according to Fire Media.
As of 1:50 p.m., one firefighter was listed in good condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to Fire Media .
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
