WILMINGTON, Del. — A firefighter was injured after falling from a ladder while battling a house fire Sunday afternoon.
Delaware Online reported that when firefighters arrived, there was smoke pouring from the house and heavy fire shooting out the first floor in the rear.
It took 30 firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control, according to the report.
One firefighter injured his hand when a ladder kicked out from under him, causing him to fall.
An investigation determined that the fire originated in the first-floor kitchen, which was heavily damaged, according to the report.
