DETROIT — A Detroit firefighter is in stable but serious condition after he was overcome by smoke while responding to a commercial building fire Saturday night.
WXYZ reported that over 12 different fire companies battled the three-alarm fire around 7:30 p.m. One firefighter was rushed to a hospital when he got disoriented and ran out of air while he was helping to stretch the hose line to the back of the building.
Firefighters were still on scene at 11 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
