LAWRENCE, Kan. — Fire crews were assessing damage Saturday after a fire at a science building at The University of Kansas.

Firefighters were called to a structure fire just after 7 a.m. on the fifth floor of Malott Hall.

University spokesman Jack Martin said the fire damaged one lab, and water damaged surrounding classrooms.

Changes in water pressure in the building set off fire alarms in Watson Library and Eaton Hall before the fire was extinguished.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
