PHOENIX — A firefighter was injured while battling a blaze at a West Phoenix home.
Phoenix fire Capt. Josh Segebarth said the fire captain suffered second and third degree burns to his hand. The injured crew member was taken to the Maricopa County Medical Center Burn Unit.
Fire spokesman Jonathan Jacobs said the firefighter was injured in a “flash-type” incident when firefighters opened a hole to the house to pour water onto the fire.
