EL PASO, Texas — El Paso firefighters battled a blaze late Sunday that displaced several residents at an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Festival in the West Side.
Fire Department spokesman John Concha said 15 fire units responded to the report of a fire at about 9:45 p.m.
“Fire medics were evaluating a possible patient,” Concha said. “It was a condition 3 fire, which is a structure fire with flames and heavy smoke showing. It took fire crews 30 minutes to place the fire under control.”
Concha said the American Red Cross was asked to help with the displaced residents.
“At this time, I don’t have any information on how many families were displaced,” he said.
Fire officials did not yet know what caused the fire.
