Nev. firefighter injured battling restaurant fire

The firefighter suffered a minor injury in the fire; the cause of the fire is under investigation

LAS VEGAS — Authorities say an early morning fire caused $100,000 in damage to a two-story restaurant under construction at the Monte Carlo casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County officials say one firefighter also had a minor injury in the fire, which was reported about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on South Las Vegas Boulevard. No civilians were injured.

Investigators say the fire was contained to the bar area of the restaurant and affected some construction materials in the area. The exact cause is under investigation.

Twenty-nine fire personnel responded to the incident.
