TABERNACLE, N.J. — A Medford firefighter was taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after responding to a house fire on Sooy Place Road, fire officials said.
The fire was reported just before 10 a.m. inside a two-story dwelling on the rural road. Fire crews from the township, Medford and Southampton were able to bring the blaze under control by 10:35, according to a Burlington County Central Communications supervisor.
The Medford firefighter, whose name was not released, was at the scene when he suffered some type of cardiac emergency. He was taken by ambulance to the Lourdes Emergency Department at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Pemberton Township.
