LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Firefighters were greeted by a large amount of exploding ammunition as they tried to gain entry into a house fire Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters saw smoke coming from a garage, but the fireworks began as they tried getting in, according to ABQjournal.
The fire was contained to the garage – where the homeowner said “live rounds of ammunition” were stored — within 10 minutes of the initial dispatch, according to the report.
No firefighters were injured.
