A raging five-alarm blaze ripped through a row of Bronx stores yesterday, razing a dozen businesses stretching the length of a city block, officials said.
Five people were hurt in the fire, but none seriously.
Officials believe the fire began at 8 a.m. in a Laundromat at 632 Lydig St. in Morris Park.
About 150 firefighters battled the flames for four hours.
Three people were taken to Jacobi Hospital: one with chest pain and two with smoke inhalation.
Laundromat owner Kingsley Hunter said he lost about $40,000 worth of machines and $2,000 a month in income.
Operators of a Subway sandwich shop reported their $200,000 investment also went up in flames.
Julia Reynoso, who owns a salon, is out $80,000 and has no insurance.
“I started crying, and I started thinking about the people who work here and what we’re going to do,” she said.
