SHENANDOAH, Pa. — Authorities say a woman and three children are dead after a fire tore through several homes in the northeastern Pennsylvania town of Shenandoah.
The Pottsville Republican-Herald reports investigators identified the dead as 29-year-old Tiffany Matejick-Sanchez, her 10-year-old son, Christian, and two nephews, one of whom was 7 months old.
Officials said all four victims were in one of four homes destroyed in the fire early Tuesday.
A fourth boy was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The Republican-Herald identified him as an 8-year-old son of Matejick-Sanchez.
Fire officials say one home was fully engulfed and flames were spreading to neighboring homes when they arrived around 6:15 a.m.
At least a dozen others were forced from their homes.
A state police fire marshal will investigate the cause of the blaze.
